7 Things Working Moms Can Do With Their Kids
Working moms are sure to have a difficult time with their families, particularly with their kids. With their hectic schedules of work at office and work at home, they experience a whole lot of pressure at both places.
People often tend to think that housewives have all the time in the world for their families and kids, therefore, are better off with raising children. Some think that working women have the advantage of being aware of the world outside the family, and therefore are capable of spending some useful time with their kids. Although the debate is inconclusive, kids need proper attention and teaching from either kind of moms. Here are seven things working moms can do with their kids.
Things Working Moms Can Do With Their Kids
Let Them Know You Are There For Them
Kids like their moms to be with them most of the time. Even though they pack of to school, they like their moms to wait for them when they return. To compensate, you have to get up much before your kids do, get things prepared for them, wake them up, get them ready for school, see them off, and also keep indulging them every now and then with a gift.
Make your choice insightful by selecting interesting yet value add things for your kids, be it a book, an educational dvd or a toy to hone their skills, painting sets etc.
Involve Them
Kids love to help their moms. Teach them to get some routine things, for instance, fetching milk packets and newspapers from the door. If they are a little grown-up you can involve them in cleaning their own shoes or setting up their school uniforms.
Spend Time
After you return from your work, which usually will be after the kids return from their school, make it a point to spend time with them. Enquire about their day at school. Talk about their homework.
Pamper Them
Treat your kids with wisely selected junk food. Alternatively, prepare some variety snacks for them – kids love good food, and moms who give them such food.

Watch The Tube
Television may be a spoiler, but judicious involvement can prove fruitful in spending some quality time. Sit along with your kids and watch an entertaining or educating program; this helps to give your kids a sense of ‘my-mom-is-there-with –me’ feel.
Go Shopping
A stroll in super market with kids for groceries could be a lesson in itself. Let your kids select the next day’s vegetables, fruits, or things required for home. Teach them which is better and why, or which is not and why. They would be more than happy to help you around.
Holiday With Kids
Plan your holiday essentially with kids. Take them around. Sight-seeing, shopping, restaurant, park, zoo, museum, or just short trips on a train…use your creativity to spend time with kids. Cook for them, cook with them. Go to friends or relatives’ place. Invite friends. Host a small party. And remember, all for kids and with kids.
These are some ways to spend time with kids. However, this is neither complete or the only list. You can think of more, better things to do with your kids, while you still at work for your employer.
