Accessories Are Important
April 28, 2009
You may want to buy more clothes in order to look like a “10,” but if you know how to dress up the ones you already have, then you can look amazing without spending all that money. Accessorizing is the key to looking like a million bucks.
Organize that shopping spree
Don’t shop randomly or you will end up with things you can’t use and spend money on items that are useless to you. More is not necessarily better if you can’t use it. Plan your shopping trips so that you can buy the things you truly need without wasting your hard-earned bucks.
Out with the old, in with the new
Your first priority should be assembling the most basic, useful fashion accessories. Every good wardrobe should include a good black bag (leather), cool black shoes (leather), and a quality black belt (leather again). Once these accessories become frayed and start peeling, throw them out and replace them. Once they get worn, they will ruin the look of your snazzy outfit. People notice old, worn accessories before they notice old clothing. So, instead of buying new pants, opt for a new belt or bag.
Plan ahead
Spend time with your clothes and get to know them! Make a priority list of things you really need the most. Once you determine that, you will know what to buy first. If you have several pairs of black pants but no black shoes, the black shoes should be on your priority list.
Match bags to shoes
So, once you buy the black shoes to go with the pants, your next planned purchase should not be red sandals if you don’t have a black bag to match your black pants and black shoes. Buy the black bag first the very next time you have some extra “shopping” money.
Of course, if you already have those red sandals but no bag to match them, then your next planned purchase (after the black shoes) could be a red bag to match the sandals. When buying colored accessories, always take the item you are trying to match with you on your shopping trip. That way, you can ensure that you are buying the right color and you will be able to avoid a return trip if the colors don’t match.
Bottom line
The point of my friendly and valuable advice today is to plan your shopping extravaganzas carefully so that you don’t waste money on things you won’t use or buy things you don’t need. Remember to shop for clothing to match all of your accessories, not the other way around. Following this great advice will help you look more chic and stylish than you already do. Now that’s important!
