Beauty And Health Tips For Moms
February 4, 2009
If you liken becoming a mom to getting a promotion, then just like getting promoted, it brings a whole new load of responsibility along with it. You go from doing the household chores to caring for the baby in addition to your work, if you are a working mom.
It can be a difficult time, not to mention busy. If you think you were busy up until now, you need to think again because a mom’s job is 24/7. It never ends; you get few, if any, breaks and you do not get any time to look after yourself or your needs.
However, amidst all the responsibilities and cares, you will need to care for yourself and try to take some time out to maintain your looks. Because, believe it or not, you will, at some point in time, regret not having cared for your looks and health. Therefore, instead of regretting, it is best that you start now so that you will not have anything to regret later.
Eat healthy
You might be tempted to and even have the reason to, but do not ever skip meals. Have at least 3 balanced meals everyday. It would be better if you could have 5-6 smaller meals throughout the day, but that might seem impossible. So, you can stick to the 3 meals a day routine.
You can even end up spending quality time with your family at these meals. If you feel too tired by the time it is dinner time, then take a few minutes to refresh yourself. Surely, your family can wait for 10 minutes. Relax and you will regain your mood and appetite.
Indulge yourself a little
Treat yourself with a hot bath, a foot massage, a hair massage with oil, a face pack, even a different haircut. You will find that these little indulgences will make you feel refreshed and energised for your busy day. They will make you feel cared for, so you will find yourself ready to give care to your family.
End your day with style
Before you go to sleep at night, make a routine of beauty care. Take a nice hot bath, brush your hair, apply some night cream or a lotion to your skin and use a lotion to massage your exhausted feet and hands. Care for any beauty mishaps like pimples, freckles or wrinkles that may be surfacing.
Visit your doctor
Do not put off any pain or discomfort that you might be feeling. Even if you feel perfectly healthy, do not miss your regular checkups. You are very much needed for your family, so never take your health lightly.
Socialize
Having kids does not mean that you cannot talk to your friends anymore. Plan something fun with your girlfriends. Go on a shopping spree, out for tea or go to a spa. Have a nice chat and a laugh and you will feel better.
