Constipation During Pregnancy
During a woman’s pregnancy, her body goes through many changes. Your hormones get wacky, your emotions are in a complete upheaval and you feel as though all you want to do is eat and sleep. One of the other unfortunate side affects of pregnancy is constipation.
Constipation happens to most women during pregnancy. The reason for this is that since your hormones are completely crazy, it causes constipation and your body retains more water. These things can make you very uncomfortable. Gas build up does not help the situation, either.
Before you go running off to your doctor for treatment, there are some things that you can do at home to help provide some relief. First off, you want to make sure that you drink lots of water. It is important to stay hydrated during your pregnancy. To help keep you regular, eat plenty of fruits. Especially ones that are high in fiber. Oranges, grapes, plumes and bananas are a few examples of the ones that you should eat.
A great spice that you can add to your cooking is ginger. Ginger will help to keep you from getting bloated and gassy, which causes constipation. It will also help to keep you from getting indigestion as well. Dates are also a great staple to your diet. They provide you with iron and will work on your blood level.
As you can see, fruits and juices are an essential part of your diet during pregnancy. Try to eat plenty of soups that are filled with veggies, as well as the juices that you drink. These ideas are great for relieving constipation whether you are pregnant or not.
Try these ideas before you even bother with visiting your doctor. You are going to be spending enough time there as it is, so why go for a visit if you don’t have to? Try to enjoy your pregnancy as constipation free as you can. With these ideas, you may be able to do that and sit back and relax.
