Dehydrated Skin And Treatment
What does Dehydrated Skin Mean?
Skin that is missing moisture but not its natural oils is considered dehydrated skin. Dehydration that occurs on the surface of the skin, affects about 98% of Americans, and is considered an enemy that is crippling to the vitality of the skin.
Scaly problems with the skin or skin that is too tight can develop age lines before it is natural. Irritation sets in when the skin becomes dehydrated.
Usually skin that is very delicate from the abuse of excessive sun or conditions of cold, damage of the external tissues develops into an intense feeling of dryness and sensitivity. A reddening and chapping condition needs to be addressed to restore the balance of the skin tone to normal.
The obvious restorative measure is moisturizing. There are actually four different points to consider when moisturizing.
Dehydrated Skin and Possible Home Remedies
Parched lips can be a problem of dehydration that is easily eased by using a glycerin cream.
Lavender oil can be made into a paste by adding baking soda to a couple drops of oil. After it is applied to the skin of the face, it needs to be left for 5 minutes and then rinsed off. This light mask then makes the skin more receptive to the moisturizing treatment.
A clay mask can be made at home for the weekly treatment of your dry skin that will hydrate the skin to a normal condition.
When in an environment where smoking is prominent, the skin suffers from dehydration. It is best to always seek out the non-smoking areas of any public place that allows smoking on the premises. Don’t allow any smoking to be done inside your home.
Here is an unusual type treatment but it is known to work. Cut a head of cabbage in half and in 3 cups of water bring the cabbage to a boil for about 10 minutes. The water is the curative so strain and cool the remaining water. After you wash your face with the cooled and strained nutrient enriched cabbage water the skin will be nourished.
