Detoxing Your Body For Glowing Skin, Peaceful Mind And A Tingling Body
If nature had its way, detoxing would be a non stop process, cleaning the inside out as a matter of course but our natural detox systems are hard pressed these days with stress, medication, junk food and stale air. Over time, this toxin overload will send out unpleasant warning signals like clogged noses, clogged arteries and cancers of all kinds.
Also, obesity and accumulation of cellulite on thighs, breasts, and belly is a sign of toxin overload. Toxic congestion can also result in dull, limp and lank hair, water retention, tiredness, the urge to oversleep and skin eruptions.
Detoxing is a physical thing, but it was also, in earlier days, considered a spiritual practice with its fasting and self purification rituals. Psychologically, it makes perfect sense. When you embark on detax plan, you are telling your subconscious mind that it is time to clear out the debris, a metaphor for a much deeper process. This is a signal of saying ‘yes’ to good health.
Following these simple steps three days every month plans to cleaner body, mind and emotions also.
Give your system food rest
Changing your dietary pattern is the first step to detoxification. Begin your day by drinking at least 15 glasses of water a day and eat raw foods such as lettuce and cabbage for the first three days. Feel free to indulge in fresh juices and soups.
Experts says that one bowl of boiled spinach with dinner everyday during detox plan works wonderfully because spinach is a natural laxative and works wonders for acne prone skin.
You can have lean meat, fish, and chicken from the third day onwards. But make sure it should be grilled or steamed. Avoid spices like red chilies, turmeric, which can heat up your systems.
But you can flavor your food with free use spices like basil, thyme, clove, cinnamon and cardamom. As per the experts the best way to wash out and rest the internal organs is to do controlled fasting at least once a week. Trying a cup of sun dried apricots soaked overnight in pineapple juice first thing in the morning. This cocktail will revitalize the circulatory system.
Turn waterholic
Start your day with water, end your day with water and drink lots of water in between. Water helps the skin and kidneys to eliminate toxins, it also stimulates and flushes out the liver. An Aryurvedic physician recommends drinking warm water to speed the elimination of ama, or toxic waste. Other nature cure experts suggest starting your day with two glasses of lukewarm water, building up to six, first thing in the morning. You can also drink jasmine tea with your meals, the way Chinese do.
Stop and take a deep breath
On a symbolic level, breathing is all about detoxing. Taking in the new and eliminating the old. Breathing deeply and fully can do everything from improving your mood, to increasing your résistance to colds and illness, even help to resist ageing. Learn pranayama, the yogic science of breath control, it is easier than you think and will almost immediately change the way you feel. Train yourself to take a deep, refreshing breath each time you remember.
Exercise to detox
Detox benefits from exercise which comes from aerobics which increase your heart rate above normal and keeps it there for a while. Regular aerobic exercise improves circulation, strengths the heart and lungs and increases oxygenation more life, giving oxygen enters your organs pushing out waste gases such as carbon dioxide. Combine aerobics with stretching effects detoxication which results in a well stretched body that looks lean and elegant.
Change your mind set
Toxic emotions like anger and hostility can actually harm the mind. Making meditation a conscious priority in your life can help neutralize negative thinking. Plus, serenity is a huge beauty asset, giving you glow that cosmetics can not rival. Even as little as 10 minutes a day can help you centre yourself. Start each day with mindfulness. Pick a focus word that is firmly rooted in your belief system. Sit quietly comfortably, with eyes closed and muscles relaxed.
Assume a passive attitude. Repeat your focus word. Don’t worry about how well you are doing. If a disturbing thought sneaks into your mind, learn to say that I can handle it. Stop and be aware of your breathing every once in a while. Set aside a time every day to just be. Use ordinary occasions to be mindful. When you are in the shower, really feel the water on the skin rather than thinking of other things. When you eat, really taste your food.
Baths and massages
Sauna and steam baths both help eliminate toxins through perspiration. They also boost circulation. Expert’s recommends fomentation as detox process. This involves the alternate applications of damp heat and cold water, with appropriate essential oils. According to the experts full body massages followed by a body exfoliation pack, made of natural clays, dry fruits and figs and then it is scrubbed off with milk and then the whole body is treated to steam from huge hot towels. This helps release toxins, giving the body a healthy, warm glow. The brush off
Before your bath or shower, try five minutes of dry skin brushing using natural bristle brush with a long handle. Skin brushing is an extremely effective way of stimulating the lymphatic system and expelling toxins. On a purely cosmetic level, it also helps to break down cellulite and give the skin a clean healthy glow. Alternatively, do wet skin brushing with a loofah.
