Eyebrow Plucking: How To Pluck Eyebrows

Makeup is an art and so is eyebrow plucking. It sure hurts when you pluck them but when you see your clean polished and beautiful face the hurt disappears. It makes your eyes look bigger; giving you a sensuous, yet vulnerable look.

However, it requires art and some amount of skill to accomplish this. Here is the exact method that you can follow to pluck eyebrows and some handy eyebrow tips to help you through the way.

The method

First, you have to decide on what shape you want your eyebrows to be. You can stick to your usual shape or be adventurous and look for some good ideas in style magazines.

Once you have decided the shape you want, draw a brow line on your eyebrow with a brow pencil. This will be a guideline for you. When you draw the line, follow the brow’s natural line by conforming to the curve of your upper eyelid.

Always pluck hairs below the brow and never above it. Never pluck more than one hair at a time. Middle of the eyebrow is the place to start. You can move towards the outer end, and when you finish, you can return to the middle and then move towards the nose. Your brows should go a little longer beyond corner of each eye.

Soothe your plucked brows with a cotton ball or pad soaked in pure tea tree oil or witch hazel.

Some tips

Use tweezers that are angled or have a pointed tip. These will give a good grip of the hair.

If you pluck hair in the direction they grow, then you will not only hurt less but also keep the hairs smooth. In order to reduce your pain a little bit more, you can hold your skin tautly right above the brow when you tweeze.

Be careful not to pluck above the brow, always do so below the brow line. This way the hair that will grow back will follow the natural arch of your brow.

Shape the bottom of the brow depending on the top.

After plucking a few hairs, stop and check if you are going right. Remember you can always pluck more hair if some are left out. However, once you have plucked you will have to live with a weird brow till the hair grows back. Therefore, be careful.
