Feng Shui For The Home And Office

Feng shui, the art of color classification and color representation, can help you achieve harmony in your life.  Different color groups and color tones represent the five basic elements: water, earth, wood, fire and metal.

Feng shui principles allow you to integrate some of these natural elements into your life through the use of the representative color to the home living space or your work atmosphere.

According to feng shui, the water element is represented by all the shades of black and blue.  Considered a healing color, blue is associated with the bladder and kidneys. If these organs do not have an adequate amount of energy, fear and anxiety may result. Although blue is the color of beauty, it is a cold color and should be avoided in the bedroom where you want to create warmth.

All shades and tones of green represent wood. Symbolic of living things, green will add positive energy to an area and incorporate harmony to the home. Green is a sensual color and represents fertility and abundance of the Earth.

The earth element is symbolized by the colors brown, yellow and orange. Suitable for the office or workplace in the home, the color yellow represents seriousness and promotes knowledge acquisition.

All shades of red and pink represents the fire element. A primitive color, red is an important color to the human senses. In addition to stimulating the appetite, red activates energy channels within the body and may arouse aggression.

The metal element is represented by the colors white, grey, silver and gold. The color white is symbolic of purity and clarity and does not evoke specific emotions. The colors silver and gold represent the flow of the two main energy sources, yin and yang.

By incorporating these basic feng Shui principles into your home and office space you will create an area that is both beneficial and fulfilling.
