Flatulence
Everyone has to let out a little flatulence now and again. On occasion, this could be quite amusing, but as with anything else, there is a time and a place for gas. Your diet is usually the main cause of gas but this can come from other problems such as stress as well.
The gas that you pass is made up of 5 different substances. These would be nitrogen, carbon dioxide, oxygen, hydrogen and methane. This combination of gases, when upset, can cause flatulence when you least expect it or want it to happen.
There are many different foods that can disrupt your stomach and cause gas. Raffinose, which is found in beans, broccoli, cabbage, Brussels sprouts and other foods, can cause this. Breads, potatoes, pasta and corn are filled with starch, which is another gas producer.
One of the main staples of our diets, fatty fast foods, is another problem causer. Carbonated beverages can also cause gas. The extra air in your drink and the fact that you may overeat when it is fast fatty food can cause stomach upset and in return cause you to have flatulence. For some people, dairy and fruits and veggies can also be a big gas causer.
There are ways that you can try and prevent gas. Of course, the main thing is to watch what you eat. Some of the safest foods that you can eat are lean meats, rice, carrots and berries. If you are still experiencing gas, try to take away one food from your diet till you find the culprit.
If you are still having a problem with flatulence, try taking a product that is made for fighting gas. By taking something before you eat, you can reduce the risk of getting gassy, especially when it is not the right time and could become embarrassing.
No matter what you do, you will always have to pass gas at some point and time in your life. The last thing that you want to do is hold it in. By doing that, you could cause other health issues that you would probably rather avoid.
