Before starting off see that you have all the necessary items required for the manicure.Your check list should include cotton balls, a nail polish remover, a nail file, cuticle clipper, cuticle oil, an orange stick, stencils, a base nail polish, white color nail polish and a nail polish of any light color to be used as a top coat.

Start out by cleaning your nails and removing all the traces of nail polish on them. This can be done by rubbing the nails with cotton balls dipped in nail polish remover.

Cut your nails and give them the desired shape using a nail file. To attain perfect and evenly shaped nails, the nail file should be moved in a single direction and not to and fro.

Massage your hands and nails generously with cuticle oil.Cut your cuticles with a cuticle clipper or just push them back with an orange stick. Wash your hands and allow them to dry completely before venturing into the next step.

Apply the base coat and allow it to dry. Place the stencils or tip guide strips which comes along with the manicure kit on the tip of the nail.Apply white nail polish at the tip of the nails following the curve of the stencils. Slowly remove the stencils after the white nail polish has dried up completely.

If you have a steady and an artistic hand, then there won’t be a need for you to use stencils.

Apply one to two shades of the top coat over your entire nails. A light shade of top coat like transparent pink is always preferred. If you have any smudged nail polish around your nails, then remove them carefully by using a nail polish remover.

By following the above said steps, you too can have a perfect French manicure.
