Parties and occasions have exciting food that people love eating. You will find people crowded around the food counter nibbling onto snacks in parties.

Birthday parties for kids have maximum kids as guests. The food for birthday parties needs to be exciting and full of fun. Don’t forget the food should also taste good. You don’t need to cook on the party day and then serve. You can start cooking much in advance. Choose recipes that can be made and stuffed into the fridge or into air tight containers.

Make sure you shop in advance for your child’s birthday party including the decorations, return gifts and also the grocery for the party menu. You choose recipes, you shopped, now make things that can be made in advance to reduce work load on the party day.

Snacks

Ready Snacks

Snacks especially finger snacks are easy as they can be simply popped in the mouth. Kids love and enjoy snacks. In fact you can increase the variety and quantity of snacks so that the kids can keep eating them as they enjoy the birthday party. You can have a number of ready snacks made in advance like cookies, muffins, cup cakes, artistically cut salads and fruits, fruits like strawberries, apple, mango, etc. dipped in chocolate sauce, brownie pops, chocolate crackles and many more. Make sure that the snack size is small, just about a bite to be eaten, easily by your little guest.

You can make instant snacks there itself like sandwiches, cheese and chilly toast, bacon cheese balls; French fries, cheese fries, sausage balls etc make sure that you keep everything ready. All you need to use is the microwave or the griller to serve fresh snacks to your guest. If you choose sandwiches as an option make sure you cut the sandwiches into four small parts or smaller portions for kids to finish the snack easily in a bite.

Creative And Fun Snacks

You can keep muffins cookies and cup cakes for the kids to decorate and eat. All you need is icing and some crushed chocolate, chocolate sauce, you can also keep colorful chocolates as an option for kids to use for decorating the snack. Keep the muffins, cookies and the cup cakes to one side. Let the kids decorate the snack themselves and enjoy having them. This will also add an activity and a little fun to the birthday party. You also get to see a lot of creativity out of these little kids.

You can do the same with pizzas arrange for small pizza breads not big ones keep basic pizza toppings ready like grated cheese, ketchup, onions, tomatoes, capsicum, boiled chicken or meet pieces cut small and arrange them in different bowls. Ask the kids to place the toppings of their choice on the pizza bread. All you will have to do then is put it in the microwave and hand it over to the kids once done. To add a little health to this activity you can use brown bread instead of pizza bread. Make sure you arrange for loads of paper napkins as the above activities and finger snacks can make the kids and everything around look messy if not wiped clean.

Healthy Fizzy Drinks

You would definitely want have drinks for the guest in the party. As maximum of your guest are kids you can introduce drinks that are healthy as well as fun. For example you can have a few flavors of fruit juices ready and just before you serve them to your guest you can add fizz to the juices. The fruit juice is the healthy part of the drink and the fizz is the fun part of the drink. Kids will simply love the drink besides this is a very smart way of avoiding harmful drinks available in the market.

Now It’s Time For The Main Course

The main course that you serve need not be a huge quantity as your guest might be partly full with the snacks and the drinks. You can choose the main course from a variety of options. Because the party is birthday party you will have kids as your maximum guest and they love variety. You can choose pizzas with salad toast and variety of toppings on the pizza, for the guest to choose from. Or you can have hamburgers with set aside toppings for the guest let them serve toppings for themselves. You can also allow the kids to fix up their hot dogs themselves.

Another option can be salads you can cut a number of vegetable and keep them aside and also keep a few salad dressings to choose from, the guest can mix and make salads of their choice. You can also serve macaroni with cheese and ham as one of the main course for your guest. Keeping two options for the main course will serve as a variety for your guest.

Finish It With A Desert

Every child loves ice cream. Keep a few flavors of ice creams for you guest to choose from, let your guest scoop out their ice cream. Keep strawberry sauce, chocolate sauce or butter scotch sauce to add to the ice cream. You can also cut different fruits in a bowl and keep them near the ice cream. Let your guest enjoy the ice cream topped with an amazing sauce and fresh fruits.

There is another very nice option to considered, A Chocolate Fountain. Chocolate fountain is in and is the latest option of a desert. All you need to do is arrange for long tooth picks and keep fruits like strawberries, mellows, apples washed and cut in a big bowl. You can also set aside graham crackers and Twinkies for the guest to dip into the chocolate and have. A number of fruits and cookies taste amazing when dipped in liquid chocolate.

All this will require a lot of work and running about, make sure you have a friend or relative to assist you with the party especially with the party food. Doing everything by yourself will stress you out and you will not be able to enjoy your child’s birthday party.
