Hair Care: How To Have Healthy, Shining Hair?

By on April 5, 2011

There are so many potential ‘cures’ both medical and complementary for hair loss, dry hair and other hair related problems, that it can be immensely confusing to find a solution that really helps.

This is not helped by the aggressive marketing techniques of some of the private clinics and product companies. We are often left with different types of some products and most of these products don’t work. To remedy this situation, you should first try something that doesn’t involve spending half your salary.

The answers to all problem lie in nature, from dandruff to depression, from hair breakage to HIV, nature has an answer to all problems. So before you buy that shampoo for dry hair or go for an expensive hair restoration surgery, it is advisable you try the following natural ‘fixes’.

Dry Hair Treatment

This is a lovely, lush fix and a treat for dried-out hair - it uses bananas, which are full of minerals and vitamins that help restore hair vitality, and olive oil to boost softness and shine.

Mash up one ripe banana with a tablespoon of cold-presses virgin olive oil, pile on wet hair from roots to ends and massage in. Next, wrap your head in cling film, wind a warm towel round it and leave for 10-20 minutes. Wash out well in warm water, shampoo lightly and dry as normal.

It is simple and your hair becomes smooth and silky instantly. Use this fix at least once a week and your hair will never lose its sheen and moisture.

Hair Thickening Treatment

This is the best and cheapest instant thicken-and-shine treatment there is. Add a sachet of powdered gelatin  to double your usual amount of hair shampoo in a mug. Mix together and immediately work the resulting paste into damp, newly washed hair, if it’s too thick to use easily, thin it a little with tepid (not hot) water. Leave in for five to ten minutes, then rinse out well. Sadly, there isn’t a vegetarian version of this fix.

But women who are having thin hair swear by this method. This method can be used by men too, so all members of your family can benefit by this simple yet effective solutions for hair thinning.

Hair Loss Treatment

Just shy of half of women under the age of 60 experience some degree of noticeable hair loss, nearly fifty percent report having had thinning hair, and some suffer from acute baldness. Common causes for women include post-childbirth, stress, the pill and certain medications including some blood-thinning products, chemotherapy drugs and certain anti-depressants. Treatments vary depending on the trigger.

Currently, there are no prescription medications for female pattern baldness. Many men use Propecia, a prescription drug for male pattern baldness and benefit from it. However, because of in unavailability of any such drug, women have to rely on natural treatment methods.

If you feel you are suffering from female pattern hair loss, you can get natural treatments for hair re-growth online. However, before you buy any natural remedies, it is advisable to research the product and find about its manufacturer well.
