Have you noticed a substantial amount of grey creeping into your hair? Going grey can be pretty upsetting for anybody. Most people who begin to see grey hair on their head immediately run to the salon to color the greys.
However, there is a way to prevent grey hair from growing and making you look older than you really are. Here is how you can stop grey hair in its tracks.
You will need to make some changes to your diet. Grey hair grows as a result of an unhealthy diet so the foods and drinks that you normally consume have to go. You will need to avoid excessive drinking of caffeinated drinks such as tea and coffee. Alcohol consumption also needs to be reduced.
Foods that are fried or are greasy can contribute to grey hair. It is believed that food that is spicy, sour or high in acid, can rob the hair follicles of essential moisture and nutrients. When you hair is lacking moisture and nutrients it can cause you to go grey prematurely. If your body is lacking mineral copper, you may notice that your hair is grey. You can get mineral copper by eating some shellfish such as crabs and oysters.
Your body also needs iron and iodine. You can get iodine from fish. Iron comes from dark green vegetables and shellfish. Try to eat more bananas and carrots, as these foods are packed with vitamins and minerals that will keep your hair follicles healthy.
Dairy products such as milk and yogurt contain vitamin B and will make the pigmentation in your hair healthy. You can also get vitamin B from yeast, wheat germ and liver. Vitamin B is known as the anti-grey vitamin. If you cannot eat the foods that will give you vitamin B you can take a PABA supplement.
Artificially colored foods can cause your hair to dry out. Foods that are high in carbohydrates such as bread and pasta can reduce the amount of antioxidants. Antioxidants are responsible for ridding the body of toxins.
If you notice that your hair is becoming grey, you can make a mask to apply over your hair. One mask that works is a combination of bananas, avocados and olive oil. Apply the hair mask once each week.
At first it may be hard to tell how grey you are because the hair that has pigmentation covers the grey hair. But as the pigmented hairs fall out, the grey hairs will be revealed. You can stop the pigmented hairs from falling out by eating healthy and drinking enough water.
