Hair is something we all love to experiment on. We change our hair color, use different products, and change the hair style and what not. Lately hair straightening iron has become one of the most popular gadgets. It is a must have for every girl.

Those who want straight and silky hair in an instant would just love a hair straightening iron. Hair straightening iron is indeed a great thing but if you do not use it in the right manner, you might inflict permanent damage to your hair.

Here are a few tips that can come in handy. Follow these tips and your hair will remain straight till you shampoo next time. But remember, sweating and water will bring back the waves in your hair. So it is better to avoid rain and do not run around out in the sun.

Before you use a hair straightening iron, wash your hair with a good shampoo and also apply conditioner. After washing your hair, dry it with a towel. Never use a straightening iron when the hair is wet. That will only damage the hair.

There are a lot of products available in the market that protects your hair such as hair balm, serum and moisturizer. Apply any one of them before using the iron. That will protect your hair from the heat. Make sure you apply the product only on your hair and not to the roots.

Comb your hair and make sure there are no knots. This will also allow the hair protecting products to spread on the hair evenly.

Make small sections of your hair and iron them one at a time. That way, the straight look will last longer. Do not take a whole bunch of hair and iron them.

Set your hair within the iron plates and slowly glide down to the tip of your hair. Repeat the process, if necessary.

Last but not the least; make sure you use a good flat iron. Use the ones that have ceramic plates. There are good brand products. Use any one of them.

Remember, even if you use hair protecting serums and whatnot, using too much of hair straightening iron will damage your hair. So do not over use this gadget.
