Hair Styling: Roll Up

You will need a number of things when you set about styling your hair. One of the most essential things that you will require is a set of rollers. They are needed for several uses, and they are very easy to use, once you get the knack of it.

You can smooth your hair with rollers, curl your hair or make some waves. However, it does not stop here; they also provide a foundation for an ups wept style.

Here are a few directions that you can follow to make the most of your roller set.

Make a clean start

Start by shampooing. Then apply conditioner to your hair appropriately to obtain the best results. Dry it well to remove any excess moisture. Use a styling spray on your hair.

Divide it up

Divide your hair in manageable sections. Usually it helps to take a hair section of similar width to your roller. For a basic set, a 50 mm/2 will do alright.

Roll it up

Start from the center of the front part, comb it up straight, and smooth out even any tangles. Carefully wrap the hair ends of different sections about the roller. Take care that the roller does not buckle your hair. Now, twist the roller firmly down towards the hair scalp. Keep the pressure same throughout.

When the roller is on the hair roots, you can stop winding. In case you are doing it with brush rollers, you might need to tie them using a pin, in case of self-fixing rollers, you do not have to fasten them because they will stay in place on their own.

Repeat the same procedure for all the sections on your entire head. If you see that your hair is beginning to dry out then spray some styling spray on your hair.

When finished, let it dry by itself or use a dryer having a diffuser attached or even a hood dryer will do. When you use any dryer, let the hair cool down before removing the rollers.

Finish by brushing the hair and smooth out any strays using a mist.

Some tips to remember

Large diameter rollers are good if you want sleek wavy look.

Divide your hair in equal sections or you will end up with uneven looking hair.

Back comb your hair roots with a fine toothed comb to create extra volume.
