Harms of Hair Straighter
November 27, 2009
Hair straightening is becoming very common because of the reason that this hair style suits almost everyone. Also it does not require going to the beautician every time; if you have the straighter at home, then you can do it very easily.
But according to the medical research this can cause a great damage to the health of hair through hair breakage and result into life long hair problems.
Consequences of hair straightening:
At American academy of dermatology in 2008, enough evidence was presented by the dermatologist concluding that the flat ironing of the hair can cause great damage to the hair through hair breakage, if used very frequently or improperly. The ceramic along with the heating combination can cause the hair health issues.
Dermatologist research:
According to the research of the dermatologist, the straighter has a lot of ceramic in it plus the high heat settings are also very critical for the hair. The ceramic along with the high heat settings if used almost daily, can cause non-measurable and non-reparable impact on hair care issues. The heat causes the hair breakage resulting into the dry ends of hair. This also results into hair weathering.
Side-effects on hair:
The dermatologist in the summer academy meeting also added that hair straightening side-effects are because of the unwanted changes in the natural hair style sequence. This hurts the cuticle layer of the hair causing the breakage, weathering, damage and dry ends.
Hair weathering:
Fly away hair and dry ends are very common characteristics of hair weathering but through hair straightening the breakage of the hair can occur anywhere along the length of the hair and it results into the untidy and bushy appearance of the hair.
Ceramic straighter:
Normally when someone has shaggy hair, they try to avoid the untidy looks by doing more and more flat ironing of the hair through ceramic straighter which results into greater damage in the long-run. The more the damage to the hair, the more difficult it will be to repair the damage. So this may become a life long hair health problem for frequent users of the hair straighter.
