How Do I Really Know That He Likes Me?

Sometimes a man will date a woman he hasn’t even developed feelings for. This can be confusing, and leave a woman wondering if a man really likes her.

If he takes your hand when you walk with him, or puts his arm around your waist, it means he’s interested. Asking you to dance or following your movements across the room with his eyes is a clear sign he likes you.

He might give you gifts for no particular reason, or call because he was thinking about you. Gift giving in particular can show a minimization of the space between the two of you, as if he’s saying, “what’s mine is yours.”

He might leave one of his possessions at your place. This is an indication he wants you to remember him.  Some people believe another sign that he’s really interested is if he keeps his legs wide apart while he sits next to you. This isn’t necessarily true, however, because most guys sit this way; it’s just more comfortable for them. If he keeps his body directed towards you, it means you’ve got his attention.

Some guys might spray a little of their cologne on you, sometimes as a joke. Unfortunately this action is somewhat like an animal marking his territory. He might want you, but the relationship is unlikely to last.

The conversations you have with him can be a big indication of his feelings. If he asks about your interests, or tries to find some common ground between the two of you, you’ve got him. If he talks about his own interests most of the time, it should be considered a warning sign. It shows he’s more interested in himself than anyone else.

Talking about his job could mean a couple things. Maybe he’s just boring. A worse option is that he’s not interested in you as a woman. Don’t even bother with a guy that only talks about his own friends or ex-lovers; it usually means you haven’t even made an impression. Shallow men will do nothing but try to make you laugh, without going any deeper.

Just keep your eyes and ears open. Everyone has a measure of intuition, so use it!
