Avoid Stress & Relax

Worry will worsen your condition; hence avoid stress caused due to vaginal dryness. You should console yourself by saying yourself that this problem is temporary and very soon you are going to restore your previous health.Try to be happy and relaxed. This will surely benefit you a lot.

Breastfeed Your Child

Many women are afraid of breastfeeding their child which is neither good for them nor for their children. Breastfeeding keeps your child free from any infection and above all it causes you to lose weight. It restores the tightness of your vagina so that you can enjoy your sexual life as you did before getting pregnant.

Keep Yourself Hydrated

Dehydration leads to vaginal dryness. You should keep yourself properly hydrated post delivery. When you will remain properly hydrated, your vaginal walls will remain elastic and will cause less friction and less pain during intercourse. You can drink 10 to 14 glasses of water daily as well as fruit juices.

Indulge In Foreplay

Lack of sufficient foreplay causes pain during intercourse. Your partner should indulge into adequate foreplay before trying to penetrate. Foreplay leads to the lubrication of vagina naturally and it also strengthens the love bond between both the partners.

Use Artificial Lubricants

You should avoid intercourse if your vagina is dry because it will give you mental as well as physical pain. But lack of sex may create a distance between you and your partner; therefore you should use lubricants to get rid of your vaginal dryness.

However you should choose lubricants wisely. Water based lubricants are considered safer; hence you should prefer water based lubricants.Once your intercourse is complete, it is important to wash your lubricants properly.

Avoid Petroleum Jelly, Perfumed Soaps, Douches and Lotion

Do not apply oil, lotion or any other type of petroleum jelly for lubrication of your vagina. Though they may give you lubrication, they would also cause vaginal infection later on. Such lubricants are not recommended for getting rid of vaginal dryness.

Consume Healthy Diet

Your diet should contain all vital vitamins and other essential nutrients so that you can remain healthy and your blood circulation can remain smooth. Eat fresh fruits and green leafy vegetables daily to combat postpartum vaginal dryness.
