Body odor is a very common problem faced by people around the globe. How much ever attractive or appealing you look, having body odor is enough to spoil your entire appearance.

The common cause of body odor is believed to be excessive sweating. When sweat comes in contact with microbes like bacteria present in the body, it gives out an unpleasant smell thus causing body odor. Certain medications, weak body metabolism, your food, lifestyle and heredity factors can cause body odor.

Using deodorants and perfumes are the common methods used to tackle body odor. You can also take care of the embarrassing issue of body odor by following some tips which are mentioned below.

Make it a point to take a shower daily. It would be optimum if you could take bath twice a day, once in the morning and once in the night before going to bed. Instead of using deodorant soaps, use anti bacterial soaps which will help in eliminating the bacteria causing body odor.

Keep your underarms clean by shaving them regularly. You should dry yourself completely after the bath and apply an underarm antiperspirant.

Cut off fatty and oily foods from your diet. Also avoid foods like eggs and garlic, as the high sulfur content in them can cause the formation of body odor.

Give up the habits of smoking and over consumption of caffeine and alcohol. Detoxify and cleanse your body by drinking plenty of water. You can also have water mixed with lemon juice as it will help in cleansing out the odor causing toxins from the body.

Dress according to the conditions of the weather. Since you will tend to sweat more during summer, it will be most suited to wear cotton clothes which will absorb the sweat in a very fast and efficient manner. Wash and clean your clothes regularly. Also apply talcum powder over the foot area before wearing socks.

Wiping your underarms with a cloth soaked in a dilute solution of vinegar will help to stop excessive sweating. Applying tea tree oil or rose water on the areas of perspiration will also help to eliminate the problem of body odor.
