How to keep your skin looking gorgeous

A clear and healthy skin is ideal for applying makeup. Not only is it easier to apply makeup, it also makes you look gorgeous. The long preached routine of cleansing, moisturizing and toning is the best for skin maintenance.

In summer skin tends to look greasy and it is essential to keep it clear while at the same time maintaining the moisture. To your routine add buffing cream after cleansing your face. This removes the dead cells. Focus on the rough areas like your knees, elbows, heels etc. Finally moisturize your skin with a moisturizer best suited for your skin type. If you have an extremely oily skin a purifying gel cleanser would help reduce the extra oils.

Irrespective of your complexion or skin type it is essential that you use a sunscreen lotion before you step out of the house. The Sun protection should be a minimum of SPF 15. Choose your moisturizer based on your skin type. For instance use an intensive moisturizer if your skin is dry and a gel based moisturizer for oily skin. Use it on a daily basis even when applying makeup.

It is essential to stick to your routine to maintain healthy, beautiful and glowing skin. Those with oily skin should remove the excess oil on their face with the help of a tissue or blotting paper before applying makeup or cleansing or trying anything on their skin. A mixture of foundation and sunscreen lotion in equal quantities makes for an excellent base during the day in addition to protecting the skin.

How do you identify your skin type and choose the right products for it?
Dry skin is that which stays dry all the time and looks flaky. You can feel your skin pulling or stretching and that means your skin is dry and needs more moisture. Normal skin stays dry but not too dry to categorize it as dry skin type. Some people and have combination skin which tends to be oily around the chin and nose areas. Oily skin is where you have excess oil and skin looks greasy all the time. It is difficult to get your makeup to stay on an oily skin.
