How To Keep Your Skin Young Looking
Keeping the skin young and healthy is the dream of every woman. In ancient times women did everything in their power to keep their skin young and glowing.
According to a myth, Queen Cleopatra used to bathe in fresh milk. There are other similar stories.
Today no one has that much time to go through such routine. So the alternative is using good skin care products. But that is not the only thing you can do for your skin. In fact there is more.
Here are some tips that will help you to keep your skin healthy, glowing and young looking for a longer period of time. But you have to follow these tips in a regular basis. That is the only way to maintain a healthy skin.
The first thing most people do is wash their faces when they wake up in the morning. It is a good habit but the question is what cleanser are you using? If you use a harsh face wash then you will be risking your skin. Use something mild that will clean your skin and at the same time not harm your skin. Scrubbing hard will also harm your skin so avoid doing that as well.
You have to be very careful about the water that you use to wash your skin. Hard water damages the skin the most. In this case use filtered water.
Once you wash your skin, the natural oils of the skin are washed away. This leaves the skin dry. Dry skin is more prone to fine lines. So make a habit of applying moisturizer every time after washing your face. Some tend to avoid using moisturizers, as they tend to make the skin oily. But a good moisturizer will not make the skin oily or look greasy. If you are still skeptical, then use a water-based moisturizer. That will be helpful.
When you buy a lotion or cream, make sure you check the label and see what ingredients has been used in it. Avoid those products that contain mineral oil and petrolatum. The two are basically derived from crude oil and they are not the replacement for the natural oil of the skin. So be very careful. Use the ones that use natural ingredients.
