Physical Activity

It is very essential for patients to indulge in any sort of physical activity that they prefer. This is to keep the body fit. Due to the constant fatigue, most patients don’t do anything and get out of shape. But it is important to do the right amount of activity and not tire out even more.

Stressful Situations

Such people should avoid taking stress about anything. Mental exhaustion is also a common symptom of CFS and it is aggravated by stressful situations. It is important to remain calm and composed as much as possible.

Too Much Rest

Lying down and sitting for too long can make the body fall into a habit of not doing anything. This is why patients get tired easily even by doing a little work. They should not rest too much and for too long.

Social Activity

It is important to maintain social contact with friends and family. This helps in distracting the mind and body from the problem. People suffering from CFS should take up new hobbies, attend social gatherings, volunteer for social work etc. Half the battle is won if the person does not allow himself/herself to fall into depression.

Substance Abuse

Patients should avoid any type of substance abuse, however minor it is. They should avoid drinking alcohol, smoking, abusing narcotics etc. These habits will make the problem worse.
