How To Moisten Contact Lenses In The Eye
Eyes are one of the most sensitive parts of body. They should always be handled with care. The contact lenses are placed on the cornea, the center of the eye. Therefore, while wearing lenses one should be very careful. If a dust particle when goes inside the eye causes unbearable irritation. You can well imagine the discomfort the lenses will cause if not worn correctly.
These days contact lenses are doing a great business world-wide as it’s the best option to avoid wearing spectacles. They are available in different colors, hence are being used in fashion too. Those who use contact lenses often face the problem of dry eyes due to lenses. Though the main reason is dry climate, other reasons such as wearing lenses while sleeping and wearing them for a longtime at a stretch often lead to dryness.
It’s very important to moist the lenses to avoid itching, pain and redness in the eyes.
Follow the below procedure to moisten the contact lenses.
Things Required:
a) Dropper
b) Lens solution
Instructions:
1. Wash your hands properly with an anti-bacterial soap.
2. Take the dropper and fill it with lens solution.
3. Next step is to take the right position. You should always look up.
4. Open your eye.
5. Hold your lower lid with your index finger to open your eye wider. Always use your left hand finger.
6. Hold the dropper above your eye.
7. Squeeze two drops of solution into the eye.
8. The eyes should now be closed. You will feel the cooling sensation immediately.
9. Repeat all the above steps for your other eye.
10. You can take help from your friend, if you can’t do it alone.
Tips:
1) Contact lenses must be dipped in the lens solution for minimum 10 hrs a day.
2) Always carry your lens case and a lens solution whenever you go out.
3) If possible keep your glasses handy with you always.
Follow the above tips and instructions while wearing the contact lenses. Whenever you face any kind of unusual irritation or other problem, don’t neglect it. Consult your doctor immediately.
