How To Prevent Seborrheic Dermatitis Hair Loss
July 21, 2009
These days many people are walking into the doctors’ chamber or to a beauty expert with one problem — hair loss. It seems like everyone is looking for a solution to this problem.
So what causes the hair loss? There are a lot of reasons behind that — exposure to the sun, pollution, chemicals, not having a proper diet etc. But another reason for hair loss is seborrheic dermatitis.
Seborrheic dermatitis is a form of skin disease. This disease usually affects the scalp, back, neck, and the nose. In case of this disease, the skin of the mentioned areas becomes dry. The skin becomes itchy and tends to have patches of red. This can also cause the hair to fall out.
Now the question is why hair loss is a symptom of this disease. Due to this disease, the skin produces an excess amount of sebum. This promotes fungus to grow on the area. Eventually there is an irritation on the skin and the roots of the hair becomes weak and the result is hair loss.
The best way to avoid this situation is to keep the scalp clean at all times. For this, you can use mild shampoo that fights dandruff. This will remove the excess oil and the dirt on the scalp, keeping it clean and healthy. But if the mild shampoo does not help then you will have to use something stronger. But the mild one is always preferable, as you will have to use it frequently and exposing the hair to harsh chemicals is not a good idea.
There are many products that are available in the market that will promise you a cure. But it is always better to consult a doctor and use the prescribed medicine.
Do not go for the products without consulting the doctor. Remember, Seborrheic dermatitis is not a regular scalp condition like dandruff. So in this case you will have to be extra careful.
If you want to have natural remedies for the problem then use Aloe Vera. Apply the gel of Aloe Vera to the scalp. This helps to reduce the irritation. Other than that, taking garlic is also helpful.
Last but not the least, increase the intake of green vegetables and fruits. They are known as an effective remedy for hair loss due to Seborrheic dermatitis.
