How To Save Your Marriage?
July 23, 2009
After work, you walk home and the next thing you do is argue with your partner? Is it hard to say a single word without yelling? Do not have a common ground to agree on? Do you hate to see each other’s face?
All this happens when your relationship is going through a tough phase. Lot of marriages fall apart because there is a constant dispute and there is no initiative on either side to make it work.
Every relationship has its complicacies, especially marriage. Do not let the disputes break it. Instead, try to work out ways to resolve the problem and find ways to fix it. Do not blame it on your partner, because it takes two to make a quarrel. See what is missing in your married life and fill up those gaps.
The first reason for having too many disputes is the lack of communication. If the two of you do not, express how you feel then there is bound to be a communication gap and the end result is misunderstandings. Do not let things pile up in your mind. Speak out and clear out any problem as soon as it occurs. If you keep things like this for later, it will only make things worse.
Respect is very important in any relationship. If you do not respect others then there is no way you will be respected by them.
Like respect, another very important aspect of a relationship is trust and being faithful. You have to trust your partner and at the same time make your partner have faith in you. Cheating is certainly not an option. Because that is betraying your partner and that will certainly flush your marriage down the toilet. Be faithful to your partner. Remember that by marrying that person you have made some commitments to her/him.
Another reason why a marriage can be destroyed is if it is an abusive relationship. If the husband is ill-treating the wife, then it is obvious that the marriage will not last long. Even if the wife decides to endure everything and stay with her husband, then it will not be a successful marriage.
So keeping the marriage intact is not the only thing, you have to make it a successful one. For this, you need to communicate with your spouse. You have to have the sharing mentality. At the same time, you have to be faithful to your life partner. Marriage is a bond for life; do not break it just like that.
Last but not the least you have to be caring. You will get all the love and respect when your spouse will realize that how much you care for her/him.
