How To Use Body Wraps To Achieve A Healthier You

body-wrapYou have read about Egyptians mummifying the bodies of the dead for preservation.  An adaptation of similar techniques and the use of modern day science and technologies can help you maintain a healthy body and general glow.

Encasing your body in soil or mud that has been enriched with fundamental oils and herbs has proven effective in removing toxins from the body. An unhealthy diet, consumption of alcohol and tobacco, or insufficient exercise can lead to a buildup of toxins in the body as you continue to age.

Such toxins cannot be removed from your system through exercise and diet alone.  Wraps have been found to be helpful in removing these toxins.  And apart from removing toxins, wraps are very relaxing and can rejuvenate your system.

Spas are specially design treatments for your individual needs. At times, you may be advised to undergo a chain of spa treatments to bring your system back to its natural form. Now, thanks to the Internet, you can even plan a do-it-yourself system that is not too difficult to carry out at home. Here are some essential items you will need:

* Epsom salts or dead seas salt.
* Dried herbs.
* Wide strips of cotton cloth.
* Essential oils.
* 1/2 gallon of distilled water.
* 2 C clay.

Step-1

You may already be aware that water itself is good for detoxification. Thus it is important to keep yourself well hydrated before, during and after the treatments. It helps speed up the process of detoxification.

Step -2

The skin needs to be brushed dry and you should avoid using moisturizers.  You should use a brush with natural hair for this purpose.  You should take a warm bath to open body pores.

Step-3

Specific clays and oils are important for the treatment.  Meanwhile combine the herbs and salts to the distilled water.  Once it has steeped for fifteen minutes, the combination should have cooled.

Step-4

Once the mixture is cool, soak the cotton or elastic strips in it and wrap them around your entire body.  Focus particularly on areas of your body that have been giving you trouble.  Allow the strips to sit for an hour before you remove them.  Once removed, take a cold bath.

Step-5

The final step is key, and involves taking a hot bath after two to three days. This opens the pores to allow the release of toxins.
