This oil must be diluted in a sufficient quantity of olive oil or almond oil before it is applied to the affected skin. However, this oil must be applied only to a small area of the affected skin when it is used for the first time as it can aggravate the problem further. If the oil agrees with your skin, it can be used on the entire affected area of the skin.

Tea Tree Essential Oil

The essential oil which is obtained from tea tree is extremely beneficial in treating cases of eczema. If the eczema has affected a major part of the skin, the patient can add a teaspoonful of tea tree oil to his bath water.

After mixing it well, the patient must bathe with that water so that the skin gets a chance to soak in some tea tree oil. Apart from tea tree baths, the patient can also make use of lotions and creams which contain this essential oil. This oil helps to prevent further infections. It also helps to bring about healing at a rapid rate.

Lavender Essential Oil

This essential oil is rather mild in its action on the skin and so it is suited to all skin types. However, it must be diluted in some carrier oil before it is applied to the affected skin. Apart from direct application, lavender essential oil can also be used in the form of lavender oil lotions, creams and gels. These products can be used on the affected akin till the symptoms of eczema disappear completely. If the area becomes inflamed after using this oil, it is important to discontinue its use and wash the area thoroughly.
