Highlighters are used on the lips to make them look full. If you have very thin lips then use a pencil highlighter to outline the bow of the lips. To make the thin lips look fuller, draw the outline of the lip bow exterior to the natural lip line. On the other hand if your lips are already full then apply the highlighter a little interior to the natural lip line.

You can use a pointed lip brush and apply a shimmery highlighter over the outline that you have drawn. This will help to augment the bow of the lips. Blend the highlighter with the skin of the lips. Use your thumb finger to pat the extra highlighter in to the skin of the lip.

If you have a dark colored skin tone then use a flesh tone pencil over the natural lip line. Use the pencil to draw slightly larger lips. Use this technique of highlighting the lips judiciously. Use a highlighter along the outer line of the lower lip, if it is thinner than your upper lip. Use the same technique for making your upper lip look fuller, in case it is thinner than the lower part.

Fill The Lip With Color

Once the highlighting of the lip bow gets over, apply colors that coordinate with your skin tone and color of the dress. However, refrain from adding colors to the central part of the upper and the lower lips. Fill the central part with a color that is a shade lighter than the lip color that you have used. If you are going out to attend a party then add a glint of shimmer at the middle. This will make the lips look fuller.
