Is Oil Good For Hair?
Hair is one of the most precious possessions of both men and women. You would do anything to keep your hair healthy. But thanks to the heat and pollution, we have endless amounts of hair problems, one of the most common of them being oily hair.
Many tend to complain that they have over active oil glands that tend to produce more oil. The result is oily, greasy hair. And the shampoo ads are a living anti-oil campaign. But the question is – essential oils good or bad for your hair?
Before going to that, we need to know how the oil works. Oil actually works as a protective shield for the skin, nails and of course the hair. Without the oil, the human skin would have become rough and dry, in other words it would lose the necessary moisture and glow. Another very important function of natural oil is that it protects the body from the harmful rays of the sun.
Considering the mentioned facts, it is clear that the hair needs oil as well. Since hair is nothing but dead hair cells, they also need the extra care and nourishment of oil. Oil keeps the hair shiny, healthy, and lively. Hair without the natural oil would look dull and lifeless.
For those who hate the oil and shampoo frequently — oil is not your nemesis. They are not causing any harm; they are actually protecting your hair. But oil can become a problem when it is exposed to dirt, pollution, smoke etc. When it comes in contact with such components, the formula of the oil changes and it is no longer beneficial to hair.
One usually has the problem of oily hair during adolescence. There is nothing to worry as that phase passes after a while.
The common method of removing excess oil is to shampoo the hair. But remember, shampoo contains chemicals and that can have an adverse reaction on your lovely locks. Do not over do it. And if the problem becomes out of control, then you can definitely consult a doctor. Besides, there are medicines available in the market that reduces the excess oil. You can try that as well.
