Keeping Cool In The Summer
It is quite difficult to stay cool during those hot summer months, much less look cool. However, there are some things you can do to look cool as a cucumber.
Wearing white
White is a very striking, cool color. Wearing white from head to toe is a smart way to dress during the summer. You can then wear accessories of any color since you don’t have to match them to your clothes. If you do pair a colored shirt with white pants, then match the accessories to the shirt. Pairing a contrasting color with white pants looks good, too.
Don’t wear black during the daytime because it’s too heavy, drab, and disconcerting. It destroys your cool summer look.
Sandals & Slippers
Footwear for the summer should be kept simple and light. Choose sandals or slippers in a variety of bright or pastel colors to match your summer clothes. White is always a good color choice for summer footwear because it matches everything.
Linen & other fabrics
Linen is a great summer fabric and is very fashionable. It is a light fabric that will keep you feeling and looking cool. Stay away from heavy denims, suede, or even light corduroy fabrics during the summer months. They are too heavy and don’t look or feel cool. The best fabrics for summer are linen, cotton, and jute.
Sunglasses
Always wear sunglasses when you are in direct sunlight because they will protect your eyes from the sun’s ultra-violet rays. They also help to delay those little wrinkles you get from squinting at the sun. They are equally important to use when driving because, without them, the sun’s glare could cause you to experience temporary blindness. Plus, sunglasses can be a dynamite fashion accessory because you can buy them in any color.
Buttermilk
Try drinking a glass of buttermilk in place of your morning tea or coffee in the summer. It cools you and counteracts your body heat. If salt is added, the buttermilk will aid in water retention to keep you from becoming dehydrated in the hot summer sun. What could be cooler than that?
