Lipstick for Luscious Red Lips
Having luscious red lips is every woman’s dream. It is a classic that never goes out of style.
However, red is a very strong color that leads to the belief that red lipstick is not for everyone. Actually, red lipstick can be worn by any woman depending on the rest of the makeup applied on her face.
Here’s how to wear red lipstick.
Downplay makeup on the rest of your face. Of course, as red is highlight enough, you should never apply another strong color on your face that will clash with it. Make your red lips the focal point of your face instead of your eyes or cheeks.
Tip: Leave eyeliner for the next occasion and apply only your mascara this time on the bottom lashes to make your eyes look wider. Make sure, too, that you are using the right color for you. Next, powder your face lightly and apply blusher on your cheeks.
Stay inside your lip line. Before red lipstick application, trace first your lip line with a lip liner. Stay inside that line as you apply the lipstick.
Right shades for your complexion. There are varieties of red hues that must be considered, too. Make sure you are using the right lip color for your skin tone, such as warmer reds, bright reds, or plum ones.
Complement your red lips with your nails. Don’t push your entire appearance too hard by wearing too many reds; for example, on your nails. While getting ready for the occasion where you are wearing your red lips, don’t fail to complement your looks with your nails. However, never use colors that would clash with your lips. Use light shades; clear ones would be okay. If red is what you want then make it exactly the same shade as the one on your lips.
Layering lipsticks. Yes, if you love reading beauty magazines, you’ll see that most of their lipsticks consist of two colors. You can invent your own brand of red, too, with the red lipstick that was a gift to you but was left untouched because of its unflattering shade. Layer it with your favorite lipstick and see what shade of red will magically come out.
