Make up for Dark Skin

The color of your skin plays an important part in people’s perception about how beautiful you are. People with fair complexion are considered more beautiful as compared to those with a dark complexion. It is common knowledge that being charming is more important than being fair, but it is not that way in reality. Skin that is clear, smooth and healthy is essential for a woman’s looks rather than complexion. With the right makeup and clothes, a dark skinned person can look gorgeous.

A person with dark skin should use a foundation that is darker than their skin tone. This helps dull the oiliness of the face and makes the skin tone even. You can add distilled water to your foundation to get the right shade for your face. Spread the foundation properly till it is absorbed by the skin or else it will be uneven. Use powder sparingly as it does not suit dark complexioned people. Light shades of eye shadow and brown mascara are ideal. During the day, apply lip gloss for a natural look and in the evenings, choose an almond red or any shade that is lighter than your lip color. Avoid dark shades, brown shades and pink shades. Apply a light coat of lipstick and gloss over it, as it suits dark complexion.

Clothes in shades of orange, yellow, red or white look good while black, blue, pink, light pastel colored clothes should be avoided. When you wear western outfits like a dress, maxi, skirts or caftans, you should go in for small prints rather than large prints or plain colors. Avoid gold jewelry and opt for silver or platinum with simple designs.

Dark skin is luckier as it is less likely to develop pimples, wrinkles or any allergies and also ages slowly. However, it does require more care and maintenance, and needs to be kept moisturized. At night, cleanse and moisturize before going to bed. Leave it on for half an hour and wipe it off. Make a mixture of un-boiled milk, lemon juice, rose water and a few drops of almond oil. This helps clear the skin. Honey helps give the skin a glow.
