Natural Hair Conditioners
Below are some homemade recipes to make conditioners at home. Most of the ingredients used are available at local supermarkets or food stores. It is best to avoid these conditioners if you are pregnant, have a food allergy or have a history of serious health conditions.
Recipe 1: Take the yolk of an egg and beat it until it becomes fluffy. Add to this a teaspoon of olive oil or baby oil and mix well. Finally, add a cup of water. Apply this mixture to your hair liberally, covering all of your hair. Then rinse it off. If the smell of the egg is too strong for you, you can shampoo your hair after rinsing the mixture off.
Recipe 2: Take half a cup of mayonnaise and apply to your hair. Avoid the use of low fat mayonnaise or salad dressing as it damages the hair. Comb your hair so that it spreads it out evenly. Wrap a warm towel over your head and leave it on for half an hour. Afterwards wash it out with shampoo. The mayonnaise acts as a deep conditioner. Repeat this process at least once a week to get softer and smoother hair.
Recipe 3: Take a few drops of rosemary essential oil and mix it with a spoonful of olive or almond oil. Warm this mixture and massage it onto the scalp. Make sure your hair is slightly damp before applying it.
Wrap a plastic cover over your head and then wrap that with a warm towel. The heat will trap the moisture in the hair and make it softer and silkier. After forty-five to sixty minutes, wash your hair with cold water.
The rosemary helps to promote hair growth while preventing dandruff. The treatment will make your hair soft, silky and easy to manage. This mixture can also be used as a deep conditioner.
Recipe 4: Peel and mash one avocado and mix it with some coconut milk. Blend both ingredients to make a thick liquid. Apply this to your hair and leave on for ten minutes before washing it off.
