Natural Remedy for Asthma

Asthma is one of the diseases causing lot of discomfort to many around the world. The reason for Asthma attack can be easily traced to environmental factors, but sometimes you also inherit this disease. An Asthma attack can be a reaction to any sensitive substance present in the surroundings, which can cause allergy.
Though no one can change the hereditary factors, surely you can address the environmental issues which may be causing Asthma, through proper care. Though there are a number of Allopathic medicines, including steroids to get relief from Asthma attacks, you should be aware that these are known to give you momentary reprieve only. On the other hand, if you take strong medications, it can cause injurious side-effects to your body.
Natural remedies and herbal cures have very little side effects on the body, and at times, they may have none. For Asthma, usually Chamomile is used as a natural remedy. The flower from the plant is boiled and the vapors of the boiling water are inhaled. Similarly, Eucalyptus Oil is also used as a remedy, by inhaling the fumes from oil drops in boiling water.
Gum plant extracts, Sage and Thyme, Coltsfoot, Stinging Nettle and Mullein, have a number of properties to fight Asthma.
For removing congestion in the nose you can use Hyssop Herb, Elderberry or Ephedra. These herbs are consumed in the form of tea or as topical applications like ointment or tincture. For dilating nasal airways, choose Herb lobelia, which can also prevent spasms. Since it can lower blood pressure, be careful while using this herb if you are already having low blood pressure.
