Plan Your First Date
May 11, 2009
Having already met that great personality, you have been wondering if to have a date but now that it is fixed, if you are getting perplexed.
Relax; it’s quite normal under the circumstances. But, the key to a having a successful first date with nice and memorable aftereffects is to plan a few things before hand.
Here are a few helpful tips
Wear something that makes you feel comfortable but is suitable for outdoors. The dress shouldn’t be too casual or too formal. Jeans and T-shirt are too casual, but getting dressed-up in a suit may be too formal.
Jeans and jacket would just give the right effect, neither too grand nor too normal. And remember, in case you are taking your car out, ensure that it is clean and smell fresh.
These days it’s getting quite customary to go to the movies, followed by dinner. Now, movies are a tricky business by itself, as you really won’t know what kind of movie would suit you both. A comedy? Yes, and then you just be watchful of the reaction of your date to certain jokes and funny situations as everyone has his or her own sense of humor.
Unless it’s an out an out comedy, both of you may not enjoy it. So, you can choose a war movie or a Dracula kind of a drama and wait for a frightening shot that may prompt you to hold each other’s hand.
If a movie, it is going to be, make sure that you get tickets booked in time to avoid the last moment disappointments. Movie is over and it’s time for dinner. Who’s going to pay? Be polite and volunteer to offer fifty percent, but its O.K. if either of the two insists on paying the full.
Instead, why not explore the possibility of going to a nice park for a walk. It’s relaxing and offers an excellent opportunity of a long talk as the first date is generally meant to be for getting to know each other a shade better.
Here, the limitation is that you have to be mentally prepared on the subjects you are going to talk on. Most of the first date experiences have those awkward silent moments when neither of you knows on what topic to talk about. Keep away from talking about religion or politics.
