Professional skin care
December 26, 2008
Skin is precious to all. And we would do anything to keep it clean, healthy and glowing. We use different products for different skin care purposes. I agree that those products do help, but once in a while we do need the help of a professional. And by professional I do not mean a beautician, but a dermatologist. A dermatologist is a skin specialist, who deals with skin problems.
Now the question is who needs help from the professionals? Anyone might need it. Skin protects your inner organs from the outer environment. So you can guess what the skin has to go through everyday. You can consult a dermatologist for any kind of skin problem from acne and wrinkle to complicated diseases such as skin cancers.
When it is a matter of acne or wrinkle people tend to use the beauty product available in the market or follow the instructions of a beautician. But in case of skin cancer, one has to consult a specialist. Two types of skin cancer are more common than the others. One is basal cell carcinoma and the other one is squamous cell carcinoma. Both of them grow slowly, and usually they do not spread on other parts of the body. But there is one form of cancer called Melanoma, which is very dangerous. This cancer spreads all over the body very quickly.
Warts are a common skin problem. Usually they are not dangerous, but some might lead to skin cancer. So better take the warts seriously.
Skin is a very important organ. Your appearance depends on it. So you have to be extra careful when it comes to skin problem. Know your skin problem first and then go for the cure. Creams and lotions are great skin care product, but it is better to consult a dermatologist.
Be careful in choosing a dermatologist. Like I said, know your skin problem first and find who is a specialist for that. Do not just walk into any dermatologist’s office you find near you. And of course when you consult a dermatologist, make sure you give him a full report of your medical and family history. Do not miss any points, and if necessary make a list of the things that you wish to share with your doctor.
