Reduce the Puffiness of Your Face
A puffy face can be caused due to a variety of factors. Either there could be an external or an internal injury or could be due to the allergic reactions or some cavity or injury in the mouth that results in the swelling of the face.
This can happen due to adverse reaction of something that might have been applied on the face. Obesity is another cause. Strangely, malnutrition can also lead to a puffy face. However, there are ways to prevent facial swelling.
Regular hand and face washing helps and it is advised that you completely remove your makeup and any old cosmetics. They tend to become contaminated and hence result in the skin to swell.
If the puffing is due to being overweight, then a weight loss program will help prevent the facial swelling. Also if the salt content in the body is high, then the face tends to swell. So ensure that your diet is a low salt diet.
Where the allergies are concerned, avoid the substances that cause the puffing of the face to occur. Consult a doctor to find out the reason for the allergy. The swelling in the face that has been caused due to allergies can easily be dealt with any antihistamine but do consult a doctor first and follow what he prescribes.
There are many home remedies as well for face treatment in case it is puffy. In case of the swelling is due to fluids, massage the face with warm mustard oil or the apple cider vinegar. Ensure that the whole area that is swollen is covered. It is also beneficial to add flaxseed and/ or flaxseed oil to your diet. It will help minimize the facial fluid swelling.
In case the swelling is due to injuries, during the first few days, apply cold compress for 20 to 30 minutes every one or two hours. Any anti-inflammatory drug will also help in reducing the swelling due to injuries.
It is advisable to drink lots and lots of water to avoid any kind of swelling in the face, amongst all the ones that are mentioned above.
