Relationship Problems: Some Common Triggers To Watch Out For

By on February 28, 2011

Couples who are in a long term relationship often face problems that lead to either a separation or severe fights. Most people who are in a long term relationship, at one point of time, must have thought to themselves that their relationship being strong, can not be affected by anything.

Although a relationship is strong enough, problems and quarrels are a part and parcel of any relationship. Some couples find out ways of dealing with these problems while some who fail to do so often end up living without any emotional attachment or end their relationship. A number of factors can be responsible that can lead to problems in a relationship, some of which are listed below:

Family growth: As the family grows so does the responsibilities and stress levels. With the growing needs of your family, you tend to ignore your personal needs. A growing family can also increase your stress levels, such as in monetary terms, which can lead to strained relations too. When stress takes the place of other emotions in a relationship, it can often end up in unwanted consequences.

Career and financial issues: Career advancement and the amount earned is often a major factor that can lead to insecurity and at times even inferiority. This mostly happens when a wife is advancing in her career and earns more than her husband. These two factors can also lead to strained relations between a couple. At times it can also be a case where the wife is more of a home maker while the husband is advancing in his career at a greater pace. This can also leave a wife insecure and with an inferiority complex.

Lack of trust and interaction: With the lack of trust and interaction emerges the problem of misunderstanding as well. When trust or interaction does not exist in a relationship, it leads to mere guesswork of your partner’s feelings. Such guesswork leads to doubts, mistrust and ultimately produces a strained relationship.

Abusive partner: A relationship always suffer whenever you are involved in an abusive relationship. You or your partner can either be a verbal or physical abuser, which only leads to a serious relationship problem. In such a situation, a person who is abused is either suppressed and forced to live such a relationship or he or she breaks the realm of your relationship.

Cheating and dishonesty: When you are not honest or cheat on your partner, the trust that exists between the two of you receives a severe blow. The trust once broken is hard to build up again, which is why it is better to be honest and faithful in your relationship.

These are only a few problems that can lead to problems in a relationship, which can very well be dealt with.
