skin-care-for-exercisersPregnancy is a wonderful thing. Knowing that you have a small life inside of you is a magical feeling. Knowing that you are pregnant can completely change the way you look at the world. The down side to pregnancy is that it can make your feel awkward and uncomfortable, All you really want to do is sit on the couch with a pint of ice cream.

The last thing you want to do is get up and exercise. The thing that you need to remember that getting up and moving is extremely important, even when your pregnant.

Why you Should Exercise

Exercising while you are pregnant will keep your digestive system running smoothly and will maintain your cardiovascular health. Women who exercise while they are pregnant are less likely to experience complications during labor, their babies are healthier, and they have an easier time returning to their original weight after they have delivered their child.

Talk to Your Doctor

Make sure that you and your prenatal doctor discuss the types of pre-natal exercises you will be doing. Your doctor will be able to tell you if there are any exercise that you should avoid while you are pregnant. You should also make sure you contact your doctor right away if you injure yourself or feel that something isn’t quite right with the baby while your are exercising.

Go for a Walk

Getting out and walking for fifteen to twenty minutes a day is an excellent way to get some exercise while you are pregnant. Walking is a low impact exercise that will help get your heart pumping and keep your digestive system from getting blocked. Walking is an excellent way to unwind after a long day.

Go Swimming

Many doctors advise their pregnant patients to go swimming a couple of times every week. Like walking, swimming is a low impact exercise, but because you are floating in the water you won’t have to worry about your increased weight putting extra strain on your joints and backs.

Take a Yoga Classes

Many women enjoy taking a pre-natal yoga class. The instructors are trained to only do yoga moves that won’t harm your child or body. The yoga will keep you limber and put you in contact with women that will be having a child at the same time as you.
