Scar Treatment
Scars can be results of various causes. They may be caused by the process of wound repair in the skin. Many people think that scars are a big disadvantage that makes them look less attractive.
Scars can not be removed completely but there are a number of ways to make them look less noticeable.
There exist a number of different types of scars which result from different sources. The most common types result from accidents, surgical operations, contracture scars and acne scars. Therefore, there are several means of treating the scars including surgery, creams and lasers. The type of scar treatment depends on the cause of the scar.
Surgical treatment
A common cause of facial scarring is acne. Surgical treatment is a recommended procedure to use for getting rid of acne scars. During surgical treatment the scar tissue is removed and healed up to make it less visible.
Creams
Creams and gels are used to treat acne scars that are caused by injuries, wounds, and surgical incisions. Scar treatment creams contain collagen which helps to keep flat skin. Collagen is a natural part of the human body. Creams and gels allow scars to become less noticeable and they provide skin with a lot of humidity and allow the skin to regenerate. Burns and stretch marks can also be healed with the use of creams and gels. In the markets nowadays, scar and stretch mark removal creams and gels are highly promoted.
Laser Treatment
Refinements in laser technology have enabled dermatological surgeons to define the appropriate lasers to use for the different kind of scars. Laser treatment is not recommended for people with dark skin although it is used for all types of scars. The laser is used to remove unwanted blood vessels and remove almost all scar tissues. However, there is no guarantee of success and may take a number of procedures to see the results.
Moreover, there are many other ways such as Dermabrasion, Autologous Fat Transfer, Skin Grafting, Special Massages and Special Patches to treat scars but these are not as effective as the ones mentioned above. All treatments depend upon the cause and the severity of the scars. It takes the skin a long period of time to heal if the damage was severe.
