Skin Changes During Pregnancy

skin-changesPregnancy is the most curtail time for a woman. It is the time when a new life is growing inside her. During pregnancy there are some inevitable changes in the skin that takes place. Some of the common skin changes or problems that occur during this time are stretch marks and acne. But there is nothing to worry about. With proper care these skin conditions can be tackled. Besides, these problem are gone after the baby is born.

Acne: You might have had clean and clear zit free skin, but during pregnancy, there is a possibility that you might have acne. This normally occurs in initial stage of pregnancy. But for some this improves during pregnancy.

Glowing Skin: This certainly is not a skin problem. Because of the excess blood, there is a blush on the skin. During this time the oil glands become more active and there is more oil secretion. This adds the shine to the skin leaving it healthy and glowing. Like the acne, you do not need to fight this problem, as this is not making you ugly but attractive.

Rashes: Many women complain that they tend to sweat more when they are pregnant. This happens because of the hormonal changes and its effects on the sweat glands specially. This can result in rashes. Not to worry as this is absolutely normal. Rashes during this particular period are red itchy bumps that occur on the belly, buttocks, legs and arms.

Stretch marks: This is one of the most common problems of all. As the baby in the womb starts to grow, the mothers tend to have stretch mark around the belly and sometimes on the breasts as well. The color of the marks can vary, depending on the complexion of the woman.  It happens because the small tissues tears and helps your skin to grow. After the delivery these marks are less visible. You can apply cocoa butter on the marks after delivery. That helps a lot.

Skin does not stay the same forever. And it is natural that during pregnancy, skin will change. Consult a skin specialist after the delivery if the skin problems persist.
