Different styles: Longer hair can be styled in a variety of ways.  You can leave it hanging loose, tie it up, braid it, put it in a knot or a twist, or wear your hair in a stylish ponytail.  Long hair can be ironed, curled or crimped to achieve different looks.

If you are hard pressed for time to style your hair, you should opt for a haircut that does not require styling and much maintenance.  A layered cut is one such haircut and helps the hair look fuller.

Women with straight or wavy hair tend to opt for this style. It is easy to maintain and just needs a wash. Another popular hairstyle is to wear long curls. Long curls lead to a mussed look that is ideal for women with wavy hair, as they need not use a variety of styling products.

Washing your hair: Long hair need not be washed as often as short hair.  This is because different hairstyles can be employed that will not look greasy.  If you do not have time to wash your hair, just braid it or put it into a fancy knot.  Voila! You have a brand new look that won’t look dirty.

Longer hair highlights features: A long hairstyle can be used to flatter ones features while simultaneously hiding facial flaws.  For example, if you have a broad forehead you can cover it with bangs or opt for a layered cut to elongate the face.

Longer hair enhances beauty: Long hair makes a woman look more beautiful and feminine than a short haircut.  Not only does it highlight beauty, but it also suits almost any face.

The ability to accessorize: You can add various accessories to brighten up your hair. These accessories can vary from clips, rubber bands, scrunchies, beads or hairpins.  Even a simple scarf can add style to your look.

The main disadvantage of having long hair is that it requires a lot of  good care and maintenance.
