Sunscreen is Still Your Friend
Many think that Vitamin C, E and antioxidants are the great defense against sunburn. Take that sunscreen and put it back on the shelf. Vitamins and supplements should not be your first line of defense even though they may increase your protection against sunburn. By no means whatsoever should you consider these as your first defense against the sun. Even though they may help in you getting less burned they will not prevent it from happening.
We all wish for that miracle pill so that we can pop one and call it a day. Unfortunately, we have to work for the things we want in life and if you want to avoid that sunburn then invest in a reliable sunscreen. Taking vitamins and supplements are a great addition to your outdoor regimen but are not the solution to the damage that the heat and sun can cause to your skin.
You can purchase one that is waterproof and will last for hours. This will prevent you from jumping out of the pool every hour to re-apply. Sun poisoning can open up a can of worms that you would have rather left closed. It is not proven that taking vitamins will completely prevent sun damage.
Taking the best precautions that you can will ensure that your skin stays healthy and beautiful. Moisturize as well to help prevent sunburn. If you have sensitive skin that is of fair complexion then taking vitamins will give you that extra added protection. Regardless, make sure that you choose a sunscreen that is high in SPF so that you do not burn. The proper strength plays a role in your skin care.
Be sure to speak with your doctor before taking any vitamins to be sure that you will not have any allergic reactions. The same goes for your sunscreen. If you have sensitive skin make sure you purchase the right lotion for your skin. You wouldn’t want to have to try and explain a nasty rash all over your body that could have been avoided just by reading the label.
