The Perfect Holiday Dress
February 3, 2010
As the holiday season quickly approaches, the holiday party invitations will start piling up. The Thanksgiving Dinner with family and friends, the employee holiday party, the friends who are having parties for the season as well as your own family gatherings.
Of course you will want to dress for these occasions. Here are some tips to help you along in your search.
Locating the perfect dress
For your own holiday party, you will have your hands full. Organization is the key. Make lists for your menu, get your invitations in the mail and get your decorations up and ready. Naturally you will want to dress to the nines for your own special occasion. If you are like most ladies this year, you will want to find the best deal you can on the best possible dress.
The Mall
You may want to go to the local mall but it is not likely that you will find the best price there. Your best bet is to go to the mall and look at what’s available for the season and to find the right fit on the dresses you like. Ask the sales person in the mall to assist you in finding the style that most flatters your body shape.
Do not buy yet
Do not jump right in and purchase the first dress you like, instead, go home and do some internet research. Look for the dresses you already tried on in the sizes you were most comfortable in and consider the lower online price. Do not forget to add in any shipping charges. Compare the two to help you decide which one is the best deal.
Money
When money is really tight, you may even want to consider going to your local thrift store. If you simply cannot think of wearing a used dress, go back and juggle between the mall and the online options to find your dress. However, if you think about it, how many women wear one real dressy dress more than two or possibly three times? There are many very lightly used dresses at thrift stores, and you probably will not spend more than ten to fifteen dollars.
The Big Decision
There are literally thousands of dresses out there to choose from at a very wide array of prices. You can do relatively casual or elegantly formal, or choose from a long gown or something in a tea length, and any one of thousands of colors. You can go traditional, with one shoulder or no shoulders at all. The final decision is yours and yours alone. Of course the simple black dress that can be worn to several occasions with different accessories is always a good choice.
In Closing
Do not stress over the dress. When you put the right one on, you will know it is the one for you. Shopping at the malls is okay if you can afford it, online stores will offer many choices at varied prices. Do not forget the thrift stores; you never know what you might find. The right dress for you will make you feel like a million dollars no matter what you paid for it!
