Tips For Applying Eye Makeup

Tips For Applying Eye MakeupEver wished you could copy the eye makeup of all your favourite stars on your own eyes? It is not impossible, you know. All you need to do is follow few simple rules and you can make your eyes as gorgeous as Penelope Cruiz in one of those mascara ads.

First rule, start with clean eyes. This means, clean your eyes with a good eye makeup remover and make sure no residue is left.

Once you are done cleaning, curl your eye lashes with an eye lash curler. That will make your lashes extra curly when you apply the mascara.

After the curling, apply eye liner on the upper lids of your eyes. Keep your eye shut while you do that. Do not worry about getting it all messed up, as that can be easily fixed. After that apply eye liner on the lower lid. This time keep your eye open.

After you are done with that, apply a bit of powder on your eyes especially on the eyeliner. That will help the liner last longer. For better results, use eyeliner that is water proof. Last of all, apply mascara. Apply a few extra coats to give definition to your lashes as well as make your eyes look extra gorgeous.

These days’ smoky eyes are the hottest trend. There is hardly anyone who does not like this style. And best part about this is that it can be created very easily. Here is how you can do it.

First clean your eyes and then apply some concealer on your eyelid. That will help the eye shadow to last longer. Then choose your eye shadow shade depending on the colour of your eyes or the colour of your dress. For this you will need a medium and a dark shade of the same colour.

First of all, apply the lighter shade on your entire eye lid. That should go all the way up to the bones of the brow. Then take the darker shade and apply it over the lash line. Blend the two shades well to create that smoky look.  Once you are done, apply some eye liner to complete the look. Remember, if you do not get it right at first, there is nothing to worry. Keep practicing and see what you can do with the colours.

Moreover, choose colours that will complement your eye colour to get a polished look. For blue eyes, shades of gray, purple, bronze and mauve will emphasize your eyes. Green eyes look great in brown, chestnut, violet, purple or royal colours. Hazel eyes can look browner with chestnut shades while rose, forest green and royal purple will emphasize the greenness.

Brown eyes are best highlighted with metallic colors and shades of green while brown-black eyes should take on a lighter tone or pearly shades for more light.

When applying makeup on your eyes, it is best to apply the eye shadow lightly before increasing the intensity to get the desired effect. When used correctly, eye makeup can alter the look and shape of your eyes dramatically.
