Tips To Manage Oily Hair
Everybody loves to have beautiful hair. But taking care of oily hair can be quite difficult. Oily hair has a dull appearance and most of the times they tend to clump together. The main cause of oily hair is the nature of the scalp. In some people the sebaceous glands seen on the scalp tend to produce excessive oil, which is then taken away by the hair.
There are many ways to take care of oily hair.
Wash your hair every day. If you perspire a lot, wash your hair more frequently. Washing keeps your scalp clean. If you have no time to wash your hair, then sprinkle baby powder over the greasy areas. This helps to absorb the excess oil in the scalp. Take care to fluff your hair, so that the powder won’t be visible.
Always use a mild shampoo which has an oil control formula. Select a shampoo that conditions while it cleanses. The shampoo used should not contain any moisturizers and should have a mild pH. After shampooing, rinse thoroughly with cold water. Do not use hot water as heat tends to increase the oiliness in the scalp. Wash your hair thoroughly as any soap residue will worsen the oily condition.
Using a conditioner is not recommended for oily hair. If you so badly want to use conditioner, then apply it on the roots and not near the scalp. This prevents hair from weighing down at the scalp where it tends to be oilier. Also restrict the use of hair styling products to a minimum. Avoid rubbing or scratching your scalp as it causes the scalp to produce more oil. Also avoid frequent brushing of hair as brushing causes more oil to move from the scalp to the hair.
Addition of 2 to 3 drops of essential oils like eucalyptus and rosemary to your shampoo is seen to be very beneficial as they act as antiseptic and tones the scalp, leading to very less sebum production. Application of vinegar, apple cider and lemon juice on the hair will also help to take care of the greasiness. Also following a well balanced diet will help to cut down overproduction of sebum by glands in the scalp.
Gorgeous hair enhances your beauty by a great extent. By following the above tips the problem of oily hair can definitely be tackled.
