Treating Hemorrhoids In Various Ways
October 16, 2009
Hemorrhoids are caused by the stress or pressure exerted on the veins in the anal area. As a result, these veins swell and will affect the body’s blood circulation.
Hemorrhoids are irritating, and are sometimes itchy and painful. With too much force exerted during bowel movement, it can also cause bleeding.
Constipation, hypertension, pregnancy, obesity, unhealthy diet and prolonged sitting or standing, trigger the development of haemorrhoids.
Hemorrhoids can be internal or external. The external type is the one that causes irritation and is more painful.
To treat haemorrhoids, I will be presenting some tips that you can adopt for at least finding effective relief, if not for permanently curing the disease.
I will present alternative ways to treat hemorrhoids although if your condition is worse, you can consult your doctor and he will determine if surgery is the solution for your condition. The surgery simply removes the affected tissue either by knife or laser treatments.
If the situation is not really bad, you can do the following:
1. Use homemade remedies to relieve you of the pain. There are creams and ointments available that you can buy over-the-counter and you can apply them using a clean, wet tissue carefully so as to not irritate the affected area.
2. Eat fiber-rich foods like fruits and vegetables.
3. Take Vitamin E supplements.
4. Drink lots of water. Increase your daily water intake to aid in having softer stools and be free from the painful experience of bowel movements.
5. Have a healthy lifestyle. Do not drink too much alcohol or caffeine, and stop smoking because these habits generally do not help your body systems.
6. Exercise regularly but do not involve yourself in high-intensity workouts. These will put pressure on your veins including those in the anal area.
7. Have a quick stay in the toilet. Do not spend time reading magazines and newspapers. Go to the right place for this – the library! Your prolonged stay in the toilet will mean exerting too much pressure in bowel movements.
The above tips are not new but when followed, will help in your hemorrhoids treatment and you will be glad to be free from the pain that they can cause.
