Treatments That Are Good For Oily Skin
Oily skin is due to excessive secretion of oil from the sebaceous glands. There are many underlying causes behind excessive oil secretion such as heredity, diet, fluctuating hormone levels, etc.
There are various simple methods to handle oily skin problems. All of these are easy and safe to be used even on sensitive skin.
Make a paste from apple, or sandalwood power mixed with rosewater. Apply the paste to your face then rinse it off with lukewarm water. You can also apply lemon juice to your oily skin. It will lighten the dark spots and leave your face oil-free.
Make a paste of turmeric and lemon juice and apply on your face. This mixture will brighten your face. Massage your face using wheat germ oil. Milk also makes a good cleansing agent for those who have oily skin because it is oil-free.
The application of lavender oil will reduce the shine on the T-Zone on your face. Honey moisturizes your skin and since oily skin needs only little moisturizing, use of honey is not much recommended. Mix rice powder and corn flour and pour a little milk to the mixture and apply on your face. The paste will act as an exfoliating mixture.
Try using potato and cucumber slices on the oily zones; they will make your skin glow. Use almond meal to get rid of excess oil. Add rose petals to geranium oil and apply on your face. This acts as a toner for oily skin.
Use mutani mitti or fuller’s earth. Multani mitti is supposed to be very nourishing to oily skin. Other than that, using a clay mask also helps a lot. Use of aloe vera, chamomile, lavender, rose hips, etc. helps in giving oily skin a nice glow. Apply apple cider vinegar and rub it on oily skin.
Washing the face many times during the day tends to make oily skin look more oily, therefore this practice should be avoided. Washing face with hot water dissolves the excess oil in the skin. Eau de cologne or mud mask may be of good use for people with oily skin. Tissues that absorb oil are also recommended as a daily part of maintaining oily skin.
Consume plenty of leafy green vegetable and fresh fruits. Also include plenty of protein-rich foods in your diet. Drink plenty of water.
