eyebrow-waxingEyes are the windows to a person’s inner personality. Though the natural shape of the eyes can never be changed, the shape of the eyebrows can be altered to suit the face and focus highlight on the eyes.

There are various methods of shaping the eyebrows and waxing is one of them. Waxing is quick and relatively easy when compared to plucking or threading. One must be very careful when waxing the eyebrows as this is the most sensitive area in a human body. Hence it is recommended that you consult a professional, though it could be quite expensive. The charges would normally be in the range of $15.

If you are planning to do it yourself, then follow the following Tips

First remove the excess hair on the lower side of the brow, and then remove on the upper side. Finally clean the area in between the brows.

Apply a thin layer of wax, little at a time and place a cotton strip on it. Stretch the skin lightly to give a taut effect and pull in one swift movement against the direction of hair growth.

Don’t let the wax to go dry and don’t use too much of it.

The shape of the eyebrow should always be altered from the lower area and never on the upper side of the brow.

axing below the brow will make the eyes look wide. It also gives a even line effect.

After shaping, clean the brow area with soft wet cotton treated an antiseptic lotion.

Rub in a good eye cream at the place where the hair has been removed moving your fingers lightly in the direction of hair growth.

Shaping the eyebrows can give a gorgeous look to the eyes. Use eyebrow pencil to emphasize or darken the eyebrows. Gaps if any in the eyebrow section can be filled in with strokes of pencil. Tinted brow shadow can give a shady look to the brow while making the eyes look more prominent.

Waxing should not be done too often. Also watch out for any rashes or boils that you may get after using hot wax. If you get rashes or boils, try using cold wax.  The procedure remains the same. Don’t forget to rub in a good moisturizer after waxing.
