What You Should Know About Applying Bronzer

Everyone wants a sleek, tanned look, but it seems like we never have the time to sit out in the sun or the extra cash to go to a tanning salon.  Plus, the sun’s harmful UV rays sometimes make tanning just not worth it.  But you want to have that healthy glow that comes from having a tan. 

The trick to looking like you just got back from a beach vacation, even in the dead of winter, is to use a bronzer.  While it seems simple enough, there are some techniques that need to be followed so that the application appears to be natural.  The most popular bronzers come in powder form.  This article will teach you how to get that natural sun kissed look year round.

To apply bronzers to your skin you will need powder bronzer, a large soft brush and a makeup sponge.  Start by applying a powder foundation to your face and neck.  This will act as a base and absorb any excess oil in your skin.  Oily skin can make the bronzer look streaky.

If your skin is naturally dry, start off with a light moisturizer before adding the powder as a base.  When applying bronzer, you have your choice of putting it all over your face for an overall tan look or just adding it to a few areas for a natural glow.  Consider applying it to your forehead, nose and cheekbones.

With your makeup brush, swirl it around in the bronzer.  Tap the side of the container to remove any excess powder.  Start at the top of your face at your forehead and bring the brush down the face.  Do not forget to include your neck for a complete look.  The first application should be light.

You can always go over it to get a more golden tone.  Use your sponge to blend it more evenly.  Once you have that sun-kissed look, compliment it with a soft lipstick and eye shadow.  Try to stay away from brown and bronze colors as your face will wind up looking metallic.
